Root & Raid

Terms of service

Root & Raid rig · last updated 19 September 2026

In short: this is a private tool with one user, provided as-is, not offered to anyone else. Using it must not break YouTube's or Twitch's own terms.

1. What this is

Root & Raid rig ("the tool") is a personal command-line program used by its author to operate a live streaming setup. It is not a product, not a service, and not distributed. There is no signup and no support obligation.

2. Who may use it

The author, on their own accounts. The tool acts only on accounts the operator has personally authorised, and only on the computer it is installed on.

3. Acceptable use

Operating the tool must comply with the terms of the platforms it connects to, including the YouTube Terms of Service, the YouTube API Services Terms of Service, and Twitch's Terms of Service. Where those terms conflict with anything here, they take precedence.

4. Privacy

The privacy policy describes what the tool stores and where. In summary: an authorisation token in the operator's own OS keyring, and nothing transmitted to any third party.

5. No warranty

The tool is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. It automates actions against live broadcasting platforms; the operator is responsible for checking what it does before relying on it for a live broadcast.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any loss arising from use of the tool, including interrupted or failed broadcasts, lost recordings, or changes made to a channel's settings.

7. Revoking access

Access granted to the tool can be withdrawn at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

8. Changes

These terms may change; the date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
